The colours in their environment can look totally different to them when viewed under UVA light. A lack of UVA is likely to have a profound effect upon behaviour, and specifically how they visualise food items. UVA is crucial for creating natural looking surroundings for these reptiles, making it easier for them when trying to look for food, or when trying to breed.
